Alex Mattingly has published fiction and nonfiction in places like PANK, Shotgun Honey, Crimespree, 3:AM, Sequestrum, Annalemma, Midwestern Gothic, Joyland, North American Review, Moon City Review, Litro, BULL, Punchnel’s, and many others. He earned his MFA at Butler University in Indianapolis and served as consulting editor on Playing Authors: An Anthology, published by Old Iron Press.
Craig Francis Coates’ short crime and mystery fiction has been published by Rock and a Hard Place, Palisatrium, Tough, All Due Respect, Manzano Mountain Review, and The Dark City. His work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and the Derringer Award, and his short story Grendel was selected for Best American Mystery & Suspense 2025.
Mattingly & Coates currently serve as editor of the crime and mystery journal Cold Caller Magazine.
